Feeling fancy? The Vintage Box is the older sibling of our Original Box, and it may be showing its age a bit but, my goodness, it uses good skincare. This is the box for you if you want something a bit beyond the ordinary, something with a bit of the je ne sais quoi that only comes from vintage books.
The Vintage Box features:
- a pre-loved mystery book in the genre of your choice, beautifully wrapped, dating from 1970 or earlier. A lot of our vintage books are over 100 years old! (As such they need to be handled with a little more care than their younger cousins. Bear this in mind when unwrapping your book!)
- two lovely hot drinks
- three snacks, always at least one sweet and one savoury
- two little trinkets
- a handmade bookmark
- and the price includes P&P!
Every single item that goes into the creation of a gift from The Sustainable Book Club is sustainable and eco-conscious. I only use recycled and recyclable packing (even down to the tape and the ink), and the snacks and drinks are from companies that share these values, with either compostable or recyclable packing, or from a B corp, or with high sustainability credentials in some way.
The Vintage Edition
The books we use are pre-loved and, as a result, some of them can vary in terms of condition. We clean the books we use and only send them out if we deem them to be acceptable to receive. Please note that some of the books may show signs of age (don’t we all), and there is the possibility of some slight foxing or, if you’re really lucky, perhaps some annotations or gift messages in them from their past owners. The books in the Vintage Box will almost certainly display some of these characterists, which is what makes them so gorgeous, but if that's not what you're after, head on over to the Original Box and pop a note in the requests field for something a little... fresher.
