Where's my box?
We ship our boxes usually on the next working day and they are sent via Royal Mail standard 2nd class. As such, you can usually expect your parcel to arrive within 4-6 working days of placing your order. Naturally, Royal Mail can dance to the beat of its own drum, so if you haven’t received your order within 10 working days, get in touch with us at hello@sustainablebookclub.co.uk and we’ll investigate for you.
Can I send a box or a subscription as a gift?
Yes! Of course! What a lovely person you are. There’s a field on each product page that says "Any requests?" If it's a gift, just pop your gift message in there and we’ll do the rest! If your recipient especially loves pink things or pictures of dogs, pop things like that in there too and we’ll see what we can conjure up. There are no guarantees that pink books about dogs are in our collection, but it's worth mentioning these things anyway.
I’ve bought a subscription bundle and I’d like to switch genre for my next box… can I do that?
Yes! Variety is the spice of life, after all. Just drop us a line at hello@sustainablebookclub.co.uk and let us know. So long as you catch us before your next box is shipped we’ll be able to switch it up for you.
I’ve already read the book I got! What do I do?
Gosh, you’re very well read! Well done! Drop us a line at hello@sustainablebookclub.co.uk within 3 working days of receiving your parcel and we’ll see what we can do.
I’ve read my book, eaten my snacks, drunk my tea and I didn’t enjoy any of it. What can I do?
Oh dear. That’s certainly a shame, and we really hope that’s not entirely the case, but we suppose that some things just aren’t to everyone’s tastes. Art is subjective, after all. However, if there’s nothing left of the goods you received I'm afraid there isn’t much we can do about it. Perhaps you can donate the book, or regift it to someone you think might like it? I’ve bought a subscription bundle and I want to cancel it. Can I do that?
I mean, you can certainly ask us not to send any more boxes, but I’m afraid we can’t offer a refund for any boxes not yet delivered. If you like, we can send your remaining boxes to a different recipient? Just drop us a line at hello@sustainablebookclub.co.uk.
I have allergies! Can I still get a box?
Oh no! What a pain for you. I hope it’s not too much of a faff when you go out? I can tell you what WON’T be a faff, though, and that’s getting an allergy-free book box from us! There’s a field that asks specifically if you have allergies, so just pop in there the things you can’t have and you’ll get a box that has never even seen a peanut*, let alone contains any.

My box has arrived but it’s damaged!
Oh no! That’s no good. Take a little picture of it and email it over to us at hello@sustainablebookclub.co.uk within 3 working days of receiving it and we’ll get a new one sent out to you.
My box has arrived but I don’t want it any more. Can I return it?
That’s a shame! It was looking forward to hanging out with you. I’m afraid we can’t accept returns and, unless the box is damaged or has something missing, we’re unable to offer refunds. Perhaps you can pay it forwards by gifting it to another lovely person?
“Sustainable”, eh?
Yep. Promise. Sustainability is at the heart of what we do here. All of our packaging really is recycled, recyclable, compostable, low impact or sustainable in some way. Sometimes it’s all of those things. All of our contents fit the same brief. If the snacks come in non-recyclable packaging, this will only be the case if the company is certifiably carbon neutral, part of 1% for the Planet, or a B Corp. We collaborate with other eco-conscious small businesses, and any trinket in our box will come along with a note detailing its origins and credentials. If only all sustainable shopping were so easy.
