your handmade bookmark will feature a lovely little Christmas tree
you'll get 5 hot drinks, which might include lovely spiced herbal tissanes, such as Gingerbread Chai from Bird & Blend, Yogi's Christmas Tea or Clipper hot chocolate for cosy nights tucked up in blankets.
your two snacks will be festive delightfully festive. Think spiced crisps, chocolate orange, dried fruits, nuts or sugar plums! (There won’t actually be sugar plums I’m afraid. I absolutely do not have the time to start crystallising plums.) You’ll also get a little handful of the most festive of items… chocolate coins.
your trinket will be festive too! Spiced soaps, or maybe a pretty thing to hang on the tree… lots of things are spiced, really. I should have called this The Spiced Original.

All this and it’s treading lightly on our planet and its resources. Everything you’ll find in the Christmas box follows the same ethics and values as every other Sustainable Book Club box: recyclable, recycled, compostable or from a company that is making moves towards a greener future.

*maybe; I actually don’t know how much a gingerbread latte costs. I personally would balk at spending more than £5 on what is essentially a cup of sugar, but what do I know.

The books we use are pre-loved and, as a result, some of them can vary in terms of condition. We clean the books we use and only send them out if we deem them to be acceptable to receive. Please note that some of the books may show signs of age (don’t we all), and there is the possibility of some slight foxing or, if you’re really lucky, perhaps some annotations or gift messages in them from their past owners. We think this is part of the joy of second-hand books, but if you are very particular about this then do drop me a note in the box and we’ll make sure to find you something more... shall we say, youthful.
Postage and packing is included in the price of your box. We ship via 2nd Class Royal Mail, and will do our best to send your box out on the next working day. 2nd Class Royal Mail shipping times are meant to be 3-5 working days, but... well, who are we to judge the inner workings of the UK postal service. Please rest assured that we retain the tracking info for all items sent out, so if there's a delay or a problem get in touch with us at hello@sustainablebookclub.co.uk and we'll look into it for you. If you want it faster and guaranteed before a specific date, then you can select "special delivery" at the checkout for an extra cost and it will be sent with next day delivery.

Last order date for guaranteed pre-Christmas delivery with standard shipping is 17th December. Special Delivery will be available until 20th December.
Our books come from all sorts of places, from all sorts of times. In some cases there is a chance that there may be language or imagery used that doesn't quite match up to today's standards. They can also cover a lot of different topics and issues. If there is anything at all that you would like to avoid, whatever it is and for whatever reason, please let us know in the 'Any requests?' box and we will endeavour to make sure that nothing triggering is sent out.
